Frozen grilled eel (kabayaki)1/2 to 1 fillet
Warm steamed rice1 bowl
Kabayaki sauce (included)to taste
Sansho peppera pinch (optional)

    Remove the frozen eel from the outer package. Thaw under running water while still in the inner bag for about until fully softened.

    Bring water to a boil in a steamer. Remove the eel from the inner bag and steam on medium heat for about .

    Brush the steamed eel lightly with sauce, then toast in a toaster oven or pan for 30 seconds to until the surface is lightly crisped.

Notes & Tips

Discounted eel that has been frozen at home works just as well. Steaming makes the eel soft and fluffy.
